Take your basic weaving knowledge to the next level with this 2-hour class. While this class is also open to those new to weaving, it is not for the faint of heart. During the workshop, an emphasis will be placed on the technical side of weaving. We’ll touch on the parts of the loom, comparing both 18th-century and modern looms, as well as the threading involved to create the variety of weave structures that will be used in the class. After reviewing the set up, each student will choose a weave structure, as well as yarn color(s), to design and weave a cotton tea towel of their very own creation. All the necessary supplies will be provided in this workshop, including care instructions for your handwoven towel.
