Do you wonder what's behind our closed doors or below the staircases? On this special two-hour walking tour, go behind-the-scenes and discover little-known facts and secrets that only a private tour guide can tell you. Learn the complexities of preserving and recreating Williamsburg’s buildings as you venture where no guest has gone on their own. Join us to discover the mysteries of Colonial Williamsburg and see it as a museum, research facility, and living town!

Saturday tours will explore the east side of the colonial capital, including exclusive access of unseen parts of the Capitol, the Raleigh Tavern, the Gaol, and the Powell House. Sunday tours will explore the west side of the city, exclusive access of the Governor’s Palace, the Carter House, and the Randolph House.

Recommended for guests who are willing and able to “step” back in time and tread in the actual steps of Washington, Jefferson, and other 18th-century townsfolk.

*Some areas of this tour are only accessible using steps and are not handicap accessible.
